Q: What is the difference between Bare Copper and Insulated Earth Cables?
答: Bare copper conductors are typically used for underground earthing grids and electrode systems. Insulated cables (usually Yellow/Green) are used for internal wiring, bonding, and connecting equipment to the main earthing terminal.
Q: Do you offer Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) Earth Cables?
答: Yes. While standard PVC insulation is available for general use, we highly recommend LSZH earth cables for public buildings, tunnels, and high-traffic areas to minimize toxic smoke in the event of a fire.
Q: What international standards do these cables comply with?
答: Our earth cables are manufactured in strict accordance with international standards, including IEC 60227, BS 6004, and IEC 60228 for conductor classes (solid, stranded, or flexible).
Q: How do I select the correct cross-sectional area size?
答: The size must be sufficient to carry the prospective fault current for the duration of the fault. We offer a full range from 1.5mm² for lighting circuits up to 240mm² and larger for industrial main earthing.
Q: Are your earth cables suitable for direct burial underground?
答: Our bare copper earth tapes and stranded conductors are designed for direct burial in soil. If you require insulated cables for underground ducts, please check our specification sheets for moisture and corrosion resistance ratings.
Q: What represents the Yellow/Green color code on the insulation?
答: The Yellow/Green coloration is the internationally recognized standard for identifying protective earth conductors, ensuring that they are never mistaken for live or neutral wires during installation or maintenance.
Q: Can I request a custom length or specific spool size?
答: Absolutely. We provide flexible supply options, including specific drum lengths, bulk coils, or cut-to-length services to minimize waste on your specific project site.
