Why Choose JOCA's Medium Voltage (MV) Solutions?
Reasons to Choose Joca's Medium Voltage Cable:
Premium Insulation
Manufactured using advanced CCV (Continuous Catenary Vulcanization) lines with high-grade XLPE. This ensures uniform insulation thickness, low dielectric loss, and excellent resistance to electrical treeing.
Industry Compliant
International Standards: Strictly adheres to IEC, DIN VDE, and ASTM standards, guaranteeing safety and reliability for low and medium voltage infrastructure projects.
Durability & Protection
Robust Construction: Designed for harsh environments. Our armored options (SWA/STA) provide superior protection against mechanical impact, moisture, and underground stress.
Easy Installation
Engineered for Efficiency: Flexible conductors and clear core identification simplify installation in conduits, trenches, or cable trays, saving valuable project time.
Credible Global Partner
Global Export Experience: With a proven track record in serving clients worldwide, JOCA provides not just cables, but comprehensive technical support and reliable logistics.

Frequently Asked Questions
If you want to know more about JOCA’s Medium Voltage cable
Q: What voltage ranges do you cover?
A: We build pretty much everything under IEC 60502-2. The usual runners are 10kV, 20kV, and 30kV. We can push it up to 35kV if that’s what your transformers need. Basically, if it’s Medium Voltage, we make it.
Q: Why is XLPE the only real choice now?
A: PVC is basically obsolete for MV. XLPE gives you that 90°C thermal headroom. But more importantly, it resists water-treeing. At these voltages, if you don’t have good resistance to water trees, the cable is going to fail prematurely. XLPE is just safer.
Q: What’s the metallic screen actually for?
A: Think of it as a safety net. It creates a uniform electric field (so the insulation doesn’t stress out) and, crucially, it acts as the path for fault currents. If the cable gets spiked, that screen carries the current to ground so your breakers trip instantly.
Q: Single-Core or Three-Core?
A: Here’s the trade-off: Three-core saves you digging trench space—one pull and you’re done. But for big cables (like 500mm²), they are too heavy and stiff. That’s when you switch to Single-core. Just keep in mind Single-core is easier to bend but needs careful bonding.
Q: When should I use Wire Armor (SWA) vs Tape (STA)?
A: Simple rule: If you are pulling it vertically or there’s tension on the line, you need SWA. Tape armor can’t handle the pull. But if it’s just lying flat in a trench and you want protection from shovels or rocks, STA is cheaper and works fine.
Q: Can I put these in wet ground?
A: Definitely. But specify water-blocking. We use swellable tapes inside that lock up if water touches them. For really wet areas, ask for the Al-Poly laminate sheath. It seals the cable totally—like a can.
Q: Do you test for Partial Discharge?
A: We have to. It’s mandatory. We don’t ship a reel unless it passes the PD test in our shielded room. No exceptions. You want to see the graphs? We can send them with the shipment.
Q: Best way to get a quote?
A: Send over your Cable Schedule. We need: Voltage, Size, and Armor type. Our guys will check the specs and get a price back to you within a day.
