    Product Description

N2XS(F)2Y/NA2XS(F)2Y : Product Description and Specifications

Need to run Medium Voltage (up to 45kV) through wet soil? The N2XS(F)2Y series is built exactly for that. Unlike standard cables, this uses a hard PE sheath and (F) longitudinal water-blocking tapes. Here’s the logic: if the jacket gets nicked and water gets in, the tapes swell up and stop the moisture from traveling down the cable. It’s the industrial standard for direct burial. You can specify Copper (N2XS) for max load or Aluminum (NA2XS) to save budget.

    Advantages

    N2XS(F)2Y/NA2XS(F)2Y : Benefits and Features

  • Real Thermal Headroom: We use XLPE insulation, not PVC. That means it runs comfortably at 90°C and keeps dielectric losses strictly low.

  • Intelligent Water Blocking (F): The “F” stands for longitudinal watertightness. We wrap swellable tapes around the core. If the jacket is breached, these tapes expand instantly to stop water dead in its tracks.

  • Rock-Hard PE Sheath: Why PE? Because it’s tough. It resists tearing on sharp trench rocks and ignores UV radiation way better than soft PVC.

  • Fault Protection: The Copper Wire Screen isn’t just for show—it provides the critical low-impedance path to ground your system needs during a fault.

  • No-Nonsense Service: Need to check the quality? We offer fast sampling. Need a weird length or custom color? Just ask.

Have more questions?

We’ve compiled the most common questions regarding specifications, safety standards, and applications below. If you don't see what you're looking for, or have a specific custom requirement, just contact our engineering team directly.

Q: N2XS vs. NA2XS: What's the difference?

A: Just the metal. N2XS is Copper. NA2XS is Aluminum. Structurally? They are twins. Aluminum is just lighter on the wallet.

Q: Voltage range?

A: We handle the full spread. From 3.3kV all the way up to 45kV. The usual 10kV and 20kV specs are our daily bread.

Q: What does "(F)" actually mean?

A: Longitudinal Water Blocking. Basically, there are swellable tapes inside. If the jacket gets cut and water gets in, the tape puffs up and stops the water from running down the cable.

Q: Can I bury this underground?

A: Absolutely. That’s actually why it has a PE sheath. It handles wet soil and rocks way better than PVC. Direct burial is its main job.

Q: Is the conductor solid?

A: No, Class 2 Stranded. You need that flexibility to maneuver it in trenches. Solid cores at this voltage would be a nightmare to handle.

Q: Why choose PE sheath over PVC?

A: Hardness. PVC is soft and can absorb moisture over time. PE (Polyethylene) is hard as nails and totally waterproof. If you’re burying it, you want PE.

Q: Can I get a sample?

A: Sure. We can cut a short piece so you can check the build quality yourself.

Q: Can you customize the specs?

A: Yep. Need a specific screen cross-section? Or a different jacket color? Just tell us what you need. We’ll build it.
