Product Description
NYY/NAYY Power Cable : Product Description and Specifications
NYY/NAYY Power Cable solutions play a vital role in industrial electrical systems, control panels, and distribution boards. For instance, they work efficiently in general low-voltage installations. Specifically, the NYY model features copper conductors for higher conductivity and thermal stability. In contrast, the NAYY model utilizes aluminum conductors, offering a cost-effective option for fixed installations.
Furthermore, we manufacture these cables to align with VDE type structures. They strictly comply with the IEC 60502-1 standard. Finally, their versatile design suits underground installations, cable ducts, cable trays, and building wiring perfectly.

Production Processes of Power Cable
To ensure superior quality, JOCA operates fully digitalized and automated production lines for power cables. Specifically, this comprehensive workflow covers conductor stranding, insulation extrusion, metallic screening, and final sheathing. Moreover, intelligent systems actively monitor each stage to ensure stable performance and consistent product quality. In addition, the factory utilizes advanced testing facilities, such as partial discharge testing, tensile testing, and spark testing. Consequently, these rigorous measures guarantee that every delivered cable strictly meets international standards.
Packing For Shipment
To meet various transportation needs, there are many methods of packaging that can be used.
Have more questions?
Q: What exactly do NYY and NAYY stand for?
A: These are the industry-standard VDE codes for PVC power cables. NYY is the standard copper version. NAYY is the exact same cable but with Aluminum conductors. They are the “bread and butter” cables for fixed installations in European-style grids (0.6/1kV).
Q: Where should I use them?
A: They are designed for fixed static installation. You’ll see them everywhere: inside concrete walls, in cable trays, open air, and specifically for underground power distribution. If you don’t need the higher heat rating of XLPE, these are the cost-effective choice.
Q: What is the practical difference between NYY and NAYY?
A: It’s a choice between Cost and Diameter. NYY (Copper) carries more current and is thinner, making it easier to route in tight buildings. NAYY (Aluminum) is significantly cheaper and lighter, but you need a larger cross-section to carry the same load. We usually recommend NAYY for long outdoor runs to save budget.
Q: Can I bury these directly in the ground?
A: Yes. The robust PVC sheath is tough enough for direct burial. Just ensure you lay them in a sand bed or use protective tiles to prevent mechanical damage from rocks or future digging, as they don’t have steel armor (like NYY-O/J).
Q: What are the temperature limits?
A: Since they use PVC insulation, they are rated for a maximum operating temperature of 70°C. If your environment is hotter or you need to push higher amps, you might want to upgrade to an N2XY (XLPE) cable, which handles 90°C.
Q: How do you package them?
A: We supply them on standard wooden or steel-wooden drums. Common lengths are 500m or 1000m, but we can cut to length. If you have a specific drum size limit for your site handling, just let us know in the spec sheet.
Q: Can you customize the spec?
A: We can. Whether you need specific core color codes (to match local standards) or a specific sheath color (like Black vs. Grey), just send us the technical requirement. We can also adjust the packaging for container loading.
