Product Description
UL1061 : Product Description and Specifications
The UL1061 is defined by its Semi-Rigid PVC (SR-PVC) insulation. Unlike the softer jacket found on standard hook-up wires, SR-PVC is engineered to be thinner yet physically harder. This tough exterior resists abrasion and “cut-through” damage, allowing for a smaller overall diameter that saves critical space in crowded enclosures.
Rated for 300V and 80°C, it is the industry standard for high-density chassis wiring. It allows engineers to pack more connections into tighter harnesses without the bulk of traditional insulation.

Advantages
UL1061 : Benefits and Features
Compact Profile: The Semi-Rigid PVC (SR-PVC) insulation utilizes a thinner wall design than standard hook-up wire. This reduced diameter prevents overcrowding in high-density connectors and conduits.
Mechanical Durability: Despite its thin profile, the SR-PVC compound is physically harder than standard PVC. It actively resists abrasion and “cut-through” damage when routed against metal chassis edges.
Precision Routing: The semi-rigid structure retains its shape better than soft wires. This facilitates neat, organized point-to-point wiring inside complex electronic assemblies.
Thermal Stability: Rated for 80°C and 300V, the insulation withstands internal operating heat without softening or deforming under pressure.

Production Processes Of UL cable
JOCA produces UL wires using a fully automated workflow. The cycle synchronizes copper drawing and stranding with precise PVC or XLPE extrusion. Instead of waiting for post-production checks, we employ continuous inline monitoring—using laser diameter gauges and spark testers to catch defects instantly. For multi-core variants, the line handles cabling, shielding, and jacketing to exact specifications. Before shipping, every batch faces final electrical and mechanical inspections to verify full compliance with UL standards.
Packing For Shipment
To meet various transportation needs, there are many methods of packaging that can be used.
Have more questions?
Q: What is the primary use case?
A: High-Density Internals. It is the standard for computer chassis, business machines, and compact electronics. If you have limited space and need to bundle many wires together without bulk, use UL1061.
Q: UL1061 (SR-PVC) vs. UL1007 (PVC): Which one?
A: Know the difference:
UL1007: Softer, thicker. Better for general point-to-point wiring where space isn’t an issue.
UL1061: Harder, thinner. The “Semi-Rigid” jacket is tough against abrasion and allows for tighter harnessing in crowded spaces.
Q: Can I use it for power transmission?
A: Low Power / Logic Only. It is rated for 300V, but the thin insulation is designed for signals and logic circuits (like motherboard jumpers), not heavy current loads.
Q: Is it suitable for soldering?
A: Yes, actually better than standard PVC. The SR-PVC insulation resists heat better and does not “shrink back” (expose the copper) when you solder the ends. This keeps connections clean and safe.
Q: Is it safe for outdoor use?
A: No. This is strictly an indoor wire. UV light and rain will degrade the SR-PVC jacket rapidly.
Q: Can it handle robotic movement (High-Flex)?
A: Static use is best. While flexible enough for installation, the semi-rigid insulation is not designed for continuous repetitive motion (like a robotic arm). For that, you need a specialized “High-Flex” cable.
Q: Conductor type?
A: Tinned Copper (Stranded or Solid). We use tin plating to prevent oxidation.
Stranded: For flexibility and routing.
Solid: For wire-wrapping or breadboard prototyping.
Q: Need custom specs?
A: Don’t guess the gauge. Hit “Contact Us.” Tell us your application (Connector type? Voltage?), and we will recommend the exact AWG and color match.
