Think of UL1569 as the high-temperature upgrade to the standard UL1007. While both share a 300V rating, UL1569 is engineered to withstand continuously higher operating temperatures up to 105°C.

This “thermal headroom” makes it the specific choice for LED drivers, small motor windings, and compact power supplies—places where internal heat builds up quickly. The PVC insulation is formulated to remain flexible during tight assembly routing while passing strict UL758 and UL1581 flame tests. It ensures your wiring won’t melt or degrade inside high-density electronic housings.

Q: UL1007 vs. UL1569: What’s the real difference?

 A: Temperature. Both are rated for 300V, but UL1569 is the High-Temp Upgrade.

  • UL1007: Max 80°C. Standard for general electronics.

  • UL1569: Max 105°C. Essential for devices that get hot, like motors or power supplies.

Q: Is it safe for small motors and fans?

A: Yes. This is its core application. Because it withstands 105°C, it handles the heat generated by motor windings and compact appliance housings without the insulation melting or becoming brittle.

 

Q: Can I use it for mains power (110V/220V)?

A: Yes. It is rated 300V, which covers standard household and light commercial mains voltage. Warning: For heavy industrial power lines (480V+), you must upgrade to UL1015 (600V).

 

Q: Will it work with my stripping machine?

A: Absolutely. The PVC compound is formulated to be “Machine Friendly.” It cuts cleanly and strips off at high speeds without stretching or sticking to the blades, minimizing downtime on your automated crimping lines.

 

Q: Is it fire safe?

A: VW-1 Rated. It passes the strict Vertical Wire Flame Test. This means if a component shorts out and ignites, the insulation self-extinguishes and won’t spread the fire to the rest of the device.

 

Q: Should I choose Bare or Tinned Copper?

A: We suggest Tinned Copper.

  • Bare: Cheaper, but oxidizes (turns black) over time.

  • Tinned: Resists corrosion and is much faster to solder. If you are hand-soldering connections, Tinned is worth the extra penny.

Q: Is it good for LED Drivers?

A: Perfect fit. LED drivers are often compact and generate heat. UL1569’s thin profile allows for easy routing in tight cases, while the 105°C rating ensures safety despite the thermal buildup.
