Product Description
NYRY/NAYRY: Product Description and Specifications
The NYRY (Copper) and NAYRY (Aluminum) series are the standard workhorses for underground distribution (0.6/1kV). Unlike unarmored cables, these feature Galvanized Steel Wire Armor (SWA). This creates a tough mechanical cage around the cores, meaning you can bury them directly in the soil without worrying about crushing loads or accidental impacts. We pair this with proven PVC insulation to keep the cable durable and cost-effective for industrial or utility grids.

Advantages
NYRY/NAYRY: Benefits and Features
Real Armor (SWA): It’s got a cage of Galvanized Steel Wires. This isn’t just for show—it stops the core from getting crushed by rocks, shovels, or even rodents chewing on it. Perfect for direct burial.
Proven PVC Tech: We use standard PVC insulation (Type PVC/A). It’s the industry default for a reason: it’s stable, durable, and meets IEC 60502-1 without complicating things.
Double Jacket Protection: Both the bedding and the outer sheath are Type ST1 PVC. That means it resists abrasion and corrosion in the trench. It’s built to survive the install.
No Guesswork: Pop the jacket open and you’ll see standard color codes (Red, Yellow, Blue, Black). Your electricians will know exactly which phase is which—no ringing out required.

Production Processes Of Power cable
To ensure superior quality, JOCA operates fully digitalized and automated production lines for power cables. Specifically, this comprehensive workflow covers conductor stranding, insulation extrusion, metallic screening, and final sheathing. Moreover, intelligent systems actively monitor each stage to ensure stable performance and consistent product quality. In addition, the factory utilizes advanced testing facilities, such as partial discharge testing, tensile testing, and spark testing. Consequently, these rigorous measures guarantee that every delivered cable strictly meets international standards.
Packing For Shipment
To meet various transportation needs, there are many methods of packaging that can be used.
Have more questions?
Q: Where do I use this cable?
A: Mostly underground. Think distribution grids or heavy industrial sites. Basically, anywhere the cable might get hit, crushed, or abused. That’s what the armor is for.
Q: NYRY vs. NAYRY: What do the codes actually mean?
A: It’s standard VDE code. Let’s break it down:
Y = PVC insulation.
R = Round Steel Wire Armor.
The big one to watch? The ‘A’. NAYRY has an Aluminum conductor. NYRY (no ‘A’) is Copper. Simple.
Q: Temp rating?
A: Since it’s PVC, you’re capped at 70°C continuous. Don’t push it past that. Short circuit? It handles 160°C for a quick burst (5 seconds).
Q: Can I run this outdoors?
A: Yep. The PVC jacket handles weather fine. If you’re running it in direct, scorching sunlight, just ask us for the UV-stabilized black version to be safe.
Q: Is it hard to bend?
A: It’s a beast. Because of the steel wire armor, it’s stiff. You need to respect the bending radius (usually 12x the diameter). Don’t try to force a tight 90-degree turn, or you’ll pop the armor wires.
Q: What glands should I use?
A: CW Brass Glands. Do not use plastic stuff here. You need a proper metal gland that clamps onto the steel armor to ensure earth continuity. If you don’t ground the armor, it’s a safety hazard.
Q: Do you have LSZH versions?
A: Sure. If this is for a tunnel or public building where smoke is a killer, we can swap the PVC for Low Smoke Zero Halogen materials. Just specify it in your order.
Q: How do I get a quote?
A: Just message us. Send your cable list (Size + Length) directly through the chat or email. We’ll calculate the copper/aluminum price and get back to you.
